Violin Teacher
Ian Zhang is a distinguished violinist whose artistic formation is closely associated with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he has refined his craft under the guidance of Janet Davies. Beginning violin studies at the age of six, he has established a comprehensive and rigorous musical foundation, culminating in the AMEB Licentiate in Music (LMusA). A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium High School, Ian studied with Elisabeth Mitchelmore and Benjamin Tjoa, achieving Top Band results and receiving an Encore Nomination in recognition of outstanding performance excellence.
His performance appearances span leading venues including the Sydney Opera House, where he has performed as both orchestral musician and soloist, as well as the Sydney Town Hall and Chatswood Concourse. Extensive experience across orchestral, choral, and chamber music settings has cultivated a refined stylistic sensitivity and artistic versatility across a wide repertoire.
As an educator, Ian is committed to the cultivation of secure technical foundations, musical integrity, and expressive artistry within a supportive learning environment, believing that disciplined fundamentals form the cornerstone of enduring musical development.
