Mr Emil Vinod
Drum Teacher
Emil Vinod is a Sydney-based drummer, percussionist and educator with more than ten years of performance experience. Specialising in contemporary drum kit, his primary musical foundation is in rock and pop, with extensive experience across jazz, funk, blues, reggae, bossa nova, fusion, musical theatre and orchestral percussion.
Emil’s performance credits include MUSE: Putting It Together at Sydney’s Factory Theatre, the University of Sydney Engineering Revue, the Sydney University Wind Orchestra’s Resistance and Rebellion concert programme, and live performances with the Sydney University Marching Band. His work spans theatrical accompaniment, live bands, concert percussion and marching percussion, demonstrating strong rhythmic precision, stylistic versatility and ensemble awareness.
As a drum teacher, Emil provides systematic training in technique, rudiments, limb coordination, rhythmic reading, timekeeping, groove development, fills, dynamics and improvisation. He also incorporates repertoire study, stylistic interpretation, ensemble skills and performance preparation into his lessons.
Each programme is tailored to the student’s current level and musical objectives, with a clear focus on developing reliable technique, confident musicianship and practical performance skills.
